Head Out of the Window

I love poking my head out of the window and feeling the breeze.  It still bewilders me how things pass me by so quickly when I don't feel like I'm moving.  I obviously can run really fast.  It's the best feeling in the world, ears flapping behind your head, breathing in fresh fresh air.  Ahhhhhhh.

I have to keep my mouth shut though, else flies and other things find their way in there.  I don't blame them, there's probably still leftover bits of the chicken tikka sandwiches I stole the other day.  They were really tasty.

I Made Some New Friends

The other day, the sun was shining and I looked particularly dashing in the warm sunlight. So much so, that four little people came to the gate and "ooh'd" and "aah'd" at me. So owner no.2 (the smaller one) came out and let them into the garden. I rolled over onto my back so they could all stroke me. It was lovely. Then, it must have been a special occasion, because owner no.2 gave them all treats to give me, so I ran and jumped around and fetched and sat and laid down and ate lots of yummy treats. I was so happy!
Then the little people wouldn't give me the treat when I lay down. Instead, they dragged it over my head so I had to roll on my back. They mentioned something about "roll over" and when I was on my back they gave me the treat. Seems a bit of a bad idea for your digestion if you ask me, but I'll do anything I can for a treat. Unless there's something more exciting in the distance...

Big Fat Juicy Rabbits

This weekend, the owners and I went to Druridge Bay in the Big Yellow Van. I was hyper. I love being hyper. When we arrived, they pegged me to a corkscrew and I ran and ran and leaped and jumped and ran some more. I tried to squeeze my head into a few rabbit holes, but couldn't get very far. I could smell the rabbits. They smelt delicious. I was so excited I could almost see them everywhere, so I ran around chasing them, sniffing their trails.
When it got dark and I'd been running around for 5 hours jumping around finding carcasses of animals, the owners eventually went to bed and shut the curtains. I slept for a while, but when it got light again, I was bored. I got up and jumped up at the window of the van. Oh. My. Goodness. There were hundreds of them. BIG FAT JUICY RABBITS. I couldn't contain myself I just let out squeals and barks of excitement. I jumped from the bed to the front of the van and looked out of every window of the van to see if my hopes were true. They were! The rabbits surrounded us on every side. I wanted nothing more than to jump outside and jump around with them, to chase them and catch them. The owners seemed unimpressed and didn't let me out. They mentioned something about it being 5am, but I didn't know what that meant. All I wanted was to be outside. So I jumped and squealed as loud as I could until they let me out. They did let me out and boy, was I glad to be with the rabbits! Run, run, run!

The next thing I knew, I couldn't see the owners anymore, so I sat outside the yellow van and squealed and cried again until they came out. Squealing nearly always works.  If it doesn't, I squeal louder.  If that doesn't work, I scratch or dig to get attention.

My efforts paid off and eventually, owner no.1 took me for a walk so I could explore new territory hunting down the rabbits.  Strangely, I didn't manage to catch one this time...

An Ancient Ball

I love chasing the ball. Have I mentioned this before? Well, Owner no.1 came home with this big orange thing. It squeaks, like a small animal would squeak if you killed it and it's shaped like a ball. I love it. When the owners throw it for me, I chase it as fast as I can and pounce. The next door Ben-dog likes it too. Sometimes I try to steal it back from him, although he does cool tricks so I leave him to it sometimes.
Apparently, it belonged to owner no.1s Grandmas dog, which was like a bazillion years ago. All the visiting dogs at this old owners home used to play with it too. It's about 40 to 50 human years old, which is what, like 200 years?! This ball could have belonged to my great great great great great Granddog. Woof.

It's About Time

Well, you've all been asking for more regular updates on my adventures, so I've decided it's best to keep a blog!

The owners left me on my own for a few days last week, all alone.  I was pretty annoyed about it, but I kept it to myself.  What's a dog to do?  I did get bored though, so decided to practice my burrowing techniques.  I started with the wooden door and was pretty successful.  I dug a nice big hole in the wood and made lots of pretty wooden confetti to celebrate my owners coming home.  Boy was I happy to see them.

Then, as a treat, we went in the big yellow van to the beach, only I wasn't allowed on the beach, so I had to walk around some grassy area and then sit in the sand dunes until 6pm.  It was SO boring and everyone else at the beach was playing with this ball really close by.  I really wanted the ball.  All I could think about was the ball.  Why couldn't I have the ball?  Instead, I had to sit with owner no.1 who was wearing these really embarrassing yellow sunglasses.  I was so ashamed to have to sit with him...
